Top 10 Places to Party at the Calgary Stampede

Stampede Week is fast approaching, so you should have your party plans in order so you can enjoy getting down during one of the most exciting events of the year in Calgary. But with so many options, it’s hard to know where to start. The clubZone team has you covered with the 10 most tried-and-true places Stampede-goers have partied at over the years.

#10 Ten Nightclub - Ten had to make no. 10 on our list due to their awesome, live hip hop and electronic sets given by resident and visiting DJs. The music here always incites some booty shaking, and there is a different performance going on all the time. Great place to go for inspiring music variety.

#9 Studio 82 - Even if you’re at Calgary for the country, Studio 82 is known for its awesome live rock parties on the weekends. Plus, it’s a great place to grab a bite, since the chef makes everything from scratch that’s not your typical bar fare.

#8 Hi fi Club - This venue is a whopping 3,500 square feet of dance and art exhibition space for the electro dance fan. Hi Fi is known for its state-of-the-art sound system, and draws local and international acts regularly. This is the perfect place to cut loose if your goal is to dance the night away.

#7 Habitat - Here, you’ll encounter sounds from underground DJs that range from robot rock to funk and house. You definitely won’t find your typical top-40 playlist in this intimate venue. Worth checking out if you’re looking to dance all night to a-typical club tunes (a change of pace is always good).

#6 Republik Nightclub - Republik is located right in the middle of downtown Calgary, so you won’t have to venture far from the Stampede to party. Every night features a different theme, so you don’t know what the scene will be (which is unpredictable in a good way). Music played here ranges from alternative to dubstep, although Republik is known more as a rock venue.

#5 Bamboo Tiki Room - This tucked-away dance spot is attached to the Drum & Monkey, which is a British-style pub. The Bamboo Tiki Room meshes a tropical flare with big sounds such as old-school funk and r&b and deep house. Be prepared to lounge less and dance more on certain nights here, as the sounds are loud.

#4 Ranchman’s - Saddled with tons of vintage country memorabilia and Western hospitality, this place is the perfect complement to Stampede. Operating since 1972, this iconic Western bar serves up the best drinks AND country foods, such as ribs, thick (juicy) steaks and Texas chili. Great place to grab a great meal while listening to some of the best country acts (locally and internationally).

#3 The Roadhouse - This place was made for dancing, as it’s the largest club in downtown Calgary, with an 800 patron capacity. For a decade, The Roadhouse has ranked highly for good dancing and hot bartenders with a friendly attitude. Good, all-around country vibes here.

#2 Cowboys - True to the Stampede’s theme, Cowboys attracts every Western aficionado who wants to shake it in their cowboy boots all night long. They have indoor and outdoor patios that will be packed with other Stampede-goers all week. On their website, you can even purchase drink tickets and other packages ahead of Stampede Week, making your party experience convenient. And Cowboys attracts some of the hottest bartenders in town.

#1 Stampede Club Crawl - Arguably the hottest ticket in town, the Stampede Club Crawl ensures you and your friends enjoy all of Calgary’s hottest clubs without the hassle of waiting in long lines and having to pay cover. Total win-win for everyone, and you won’t get stuck at a random spot with no idea where to go next. Before you go, read our guide to surviving a night at the Stampede Club Crawl.
